About Us

Founded in July 2022 by a group of modelers with many years of experience in model aviation, engineering, civil aviation, and working with civic authority, our alliance brings a unique perspective on the sport. Our pilots have experience in fixed wing, helicopter, and multirotor operations and are willing to share that experience with pilots desiring to learn or broaden their skills.

Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, our desert environment provides year round enjoyment of all aspects of model aviation. Our blue skies and unobstructed views are the perfect back drop for any type of model. From the smallest park fliers to huge scale models, you will see it flown on one of the city’s two 600 foot long paved runways at the Las Cruces R/C Airpark.

Cruces Aeromodelers Alliance is a member run organization and requires two-thirds member vote to accept changes to the bylaws of the organization or to vote in new members. Potential members are granted a 90-day provisional membership while getting to know our current members. Potential members desiring full membership must be sponsored by an existing member at the end of the provisional membership. A closed vote will be taken and upon acceptance the full membership is granted.

Dues: The 90-day provisional membership is no cost to the applicant. Upon acceptance as a full adult member, dues of $2.50 per month through the end of the calendar year will be assessed. Youth membership (through age 17) is no cost to the member. The year following their 17th birthday, they will be considered an adult member. These dues are subject to change upon the vote of the current membership to cover anticipated club expenses of the upcoming flying season.
